Description
A year-round formula for African Greys, large macaws, Golden Conures and other medium to large parrots that have special needs such as birds that are molting, overweight, underweight, particularly active, housed in a cold climate, recovering from an illness or affected by liver or kidney disease. For birds that are weaning or breeding.
African Grey Parrots, Hyacinth Macaws, Palm Cockatoos and Golden Conures should be fed High Potency Formula throughout the whole year.
In order to optimize the content of essential fatty acids (omega-3 and omega-6), carotene and natural vitamin E we recommend mixing 0,45 kg Harrison Bird Food with Palmgloss . Please pour 10 ml into the newly opened food bag. Mix well with a spoon until everything is evenly distributed. Close the bag well after feeding and store it in the fridge. The food should be consumed within 6 – 8 weeks after opening.
Have you ever found crumbly or powdery bits of food in a bag of Dr. Harrison's High Potency or Adult Lifetime Coarse? Please don't throw it away. This isn't waste; it's just as high-quality food as the other kibble in the bag. This broken food is a natural part of the production process and is technically unavoidable.
Since parrots don't like to eat crumbly or powdery food in its natural form, Monika Janeczek from Avifood developed the following two recipes for baking bird bread. This allows the crumbs to be used in a palatable way.
Monika's bird bread is an ideal training or reward food. You can also offer it to your parrots as an additional protein source during molting or breeding season. At these times, your birds can benefit from the extra protein because new feathers are rich in protein, and egg-laying females or rapidly growing young birds require a significant amount of protein.
